Côte By Mauro Colagreco at Capella Bangkok Celebrates Its First Anniversary With 1 Michelin Star

In a live-streamed virtual ceremony, the fifth edition of the MICHELIN Guide Thailand has unveiled 2022's Star Revelation results. Coinciding with its first anniversary, Capella Bangkok's signature restaurant, Côte by Mauro Colagreco, has proudly been awarded with 1 MICHELIN Star.

Taking over the river-facing dining room at the heart of the Capella Bangkok hotel, Côte transports diners from Bangkok’s enchanting riverside district to the French and Italian Riviera. With elegant, light-drenched interiors and panoramic views of the glittering Chao Phraya River, the restaurant delivers menus with refined simplicity and ingredient-driven preparations conceptualized by renowned chef Mauro Colagreco.

"Celebrating Côte's first anniversary with our first 1 MICHELIN star in Asia truly feels like a reward for our hard work," says Mauro Colagreco. "I'm overwhelmed with happiness."

Colagreco continues: "Opening a restaurant during the pandemic, especially a fine dining one, was no easy task. Helming the Bangkok kitchen is Chef Davide Garavaglia, who has been personally appointed by Mauro Colagreco after a 5-year tenure as Chef de Cuisine at Colagreco’s principal restaurant – Mirazur*** – in Menton, France.

Garavaglia translates Colagreco’s ingredient-driven and sustainable philosophy to Côte’s urban setting in the Thai capital. Colagreco and Garavaglia draw on local ingredients and put prime produce at the center of their culinary creations. Within Côte’s ‘Riviera to River’ concept, menus feature not only flavors from the Mediterranean Riviera but also embrace the colors, textures and tastes of the age-old traditions of Thai cuisine where ginger, lemongrass, kaffir lime, and pomelo make for captivating cross-border flavor profiles.

"Being awarded 1 MICHELIN Star today is a prestigious honor," Garavaglia says. "Not only for us all at Côte, but also for the farmers and residents of the communities around the country we work closely with – such as Klong Phai Farm in the hills of Khao Yai, where free-range chicken feed on organic herbs."

Not only has Côte been awarded the 1 MICHELIN Star this year, the restaurant’s service team led by Thibaud Charlemarty has also captured diner’s hearts by winning the first-ever MICHELIN Guide Thailand 2022 Service Award, presented by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
